TOPIC: BORN TO REIGN.
...Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world... (John 18:37).
The Bible tells us how God appeared to Abraham when he was ninety years old, and blessed him. He said to him, “And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee” (Genesis 17:6). Some Bible translations say, “...some kings will come out of thee,” but that’s wrong. God wasn’t thinking about the kings of Israel and Judah that would reign over His people; He was talking about a generation that’d be born as kings.
In the following verse, the Lord said, “And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.” His everlasting covenant wasn’t with Abraham’s physical, earthly seeds like Isaac, Jacob etc., who only received the blessing in part.
Galatians 3:16 says, “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” The seed He was talking about is Christ, and we’re heirs of the promises that were made to Abraham because we’re in Christ: “And if ye [be] Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29).
So, when God said to Abraham “...kings shall come out of thee...,” He was actually talking of us, the new creation. Romans 5:17 says, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” The Greek rendering of the word, “reign” accurately means “to king.” Thus, the actual Greek construction should be, “...they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall king in life, by one, Jesus Christ.”
You were born to reign (to king) in life over demons, sickness and disease, poverty, failure, circumstances and death, because you’re Abraham’s seed, and a joint heir with Christ. Therefore, have the mentality of absolute success and dominion. Christ reigns on earth today through you.
CONFESSION:
I know who I am! I’m Abraham’s seed and I reign and rule in this life. I walk in the consciousness of abundance and dominion because I’m a joint-heir with Christ; therefore, all things are mine!
FURTHER STUDY:
Galatians 3:7-9. You should realize, then, that the real descendants of Abraham are the people who have faith. 8 The scripture predicted that God would put the Gentiles right with himself through faith. And so the scripture announced the Good News to Abraham: “Through you God will bless all people.” 9 Abraham believed and was blessed; so all who believe are blessed as he was.
Revelation 5:10. You have made them a kingdom of priests to serve our God, and they shall rule on earth.”
