A critical look on LASTMA  activities.

Is LASTMA really doing its job or on the road to paint it yellow? This and many more are questions in the mouth of many Lagosians. The experiences on the road with the 'yellow citizens' on daily basis gives a clear answer to the question, "No".

LASTMA, Lagos state transport management agency was created by Lagos state government to manage all transport activities in Lagos, of which include: traffic management, driving rules, to mention but a few. Lagosians are thus disappointed that these jobs aforementioned are not adhered to by these citizens, and therefore ask that they be reviewed or monitored thoroughly.

These Citizens flood the roads only for the money they get from victims. They unapologetically collect money, 'bribe' from drivers or conductors in disguise of doing their job, thereby encouraging the disobedience of the transport laws.  Sometimes I am forced to wonder the qualification for their job, because most are not different from the popular Lagos street boy: It is highly degrading for a 'uniform officer'.

Lagos state government should look into the activities of all their staffs, especially those on the road. These people represent the state government to a large extent, and their activities make or ma the existing achievements claimed by the government.

The yellow citizens maybe 'stripped off their uniform soon', Lagosians are hopeful.
