Roots

Roots

I can see the green wind
Winding to the left
It looks so green
It reminds me of home
Serenaded with nature's endowment

Its roots are firmly stayed on the
Huge rocks called ugwu
Where masquerades dance to unseen beats
And beats perform its usual sacrifice

The people gather in obodo to
Listen and drink the white wine
As they discuss the way forward
My root is green and beautiful.
